WHAT IS THIS CAMPAIGN?...

Consumerism is a disease that effects every person in Western society. American Christians [and our churches] are not immune. We move from one distraction to the next, bubbling ourselves from meeting the needs of a world so desperate for love. This is not the lifestyle God demands of Christians. Our cumulative consumptive choices have growing consequences.

As American Christians increasingly act like consumers of church-- the purpose of local churches has changed. Churches which should be delivery stations of love & grace have become bubbles of Christians consuming church. This will not suffice.

We must recapture our purpose.

As Christians we are all a part of the problem, and can be a part of the solution. Join us as we champion Christians remembering that we are not consumers of The Church---we are It's employees.

It's time we remember that.

It's time we live that.
OUR GOALS.
This campaign is designed to:

Raise awareness of The Consumer Christianity Crisis
500,000 signatures on The Resolution.
Inspire millions to STOP CONSUMING-- start serving their communities
Build bridges with local churches to address this critical issue con‧sum‧er‧ism  /kənˈsuməˌrɪzəm/ 1. the concept that an ever-expanding consumption of goods is advantageous
2. the fact or practice of an increasing consumption of goods
3. attachment to materialistic values or possessions WEBSTER DICTIONARY 2006 We seem to have forgotten our purpose. The Church exists to serve God, not ourselves. Jesus died for The Church and then commanded us to go into our communities and show love; perform acts of kindness and show startling, shocking grace toward the anyone who would have it. Sacrifice our lives for others.

Have we compromised Jesus message of self -sacrifice? We ask so little so people stay in the pews--and we can continue to “grow”. Now, before you write and yell at me---hear this with an open heart. I have no issue with The Kingdom of God advancing. I pray for it everyday--that more people would experience the love of Jesus and give up what they want for what He wants. All my ministries have had explosive growth. Growth is natural and Godly, but growth is not what we should be about. Growth should not be our end game. Our measuring stick. We should care why we are growing.

There is no finger to point--except at ourselves. We are all a part of the problem. Leaders, too often we are hesitant to call people to greatness--concerned we will lose attendance and money. Christians are all too comfortable to do only what is demanded of them, allowing leaders to work merciless hours and carry the community on their back. Christians have seemingly given over the responsibility of their soul’s growth to pastors, programs and parishes. We leaders accept the trade for large congregations and the faint hope of reaching more lost souls. There is no one to blame but ourselves. It starts with me. Starts with you. There are no short cuts to working out our salvation--its time we stop looking for them.

This is the issue boiled down:

The ONLY customer of the Church should be God. The church is here to serve Him and give Him the desires of His heart. The people who attend the church should come with the expectation and excitement to serve God and others. We are the employees not the customers. It’s time we remembered that. It’s time we live that.

NO MORE SHORTCUTS.
“we have become consumers of church” “THE ONLY CUSTOMER OF THE CHURCH SHOULD BE GOD...
WE ARE THE EMPLOYEES, NOT THE CUSTOMERS.

ITS TIME WE REMEMBER THAT.

ITS TIME WE LIVE THAT”
