WHAT THE RESOLUTION IS...AND ISNT. It is designed to draw attention to a critical issue we face as Christians. The issue that we as Christians have sheltered or bubbled ourselves. We have created lifestyles and an institutional structure designed to love ourselves--- not God or others as Jesus commands. We see ourselves as the customers of the church with rights and expectations. This will not do. Because of this apathy, we have grown disconnected from society. Some say society has chosen to ignore the local church. We believe the local church has chosen to gradually insulate itself from society--and because of this has become less and less relevant. The local church has unfortunately chosen to ignore society---and our inability to impact society is the reaping of what we have sown. WE HAVE BECOME DISTRACTED BY CONSUMPTION OF MATERIALS, ENTERTAINMENT, AND RELIGIOUS SERVICES The Resolution is designed to attract attention to this and call individuals to locally and internationally act upon their conscience. We have no detailed solution...this problem will not be solved by one person inspiring millions to do ONE THING. It will be solved when millions are inspired to THINK AND ACT upon the teachings of Jesus in their individual situation. Only when we stop consuming God & Church and begin to serve others as jesus demands will we begin to see what The Church should be. RESOLUTION HOW DO I “SIGN” THE RESOLUTION? THE american christianity is entrenched in a crisis of consumerism 1. 2. 3. 4. TO FEED THIS LIFESTYLE, WE NOW CONSUME A DISPROPORTIONATE AMOUNT OF OUR NEIGHBORS RESOURCES WE NO LONGER CAN BE DISTINGUISHED FROM THE REST OF OUR CULTURE AND ARE THEREFORE LOSING RELEVANCY WE HAVE BECOME DOCILE, DOMESTICATED CHURCH GOERS--CONSUMERS OF CHURCH
